Day 3

Nothing happened last night. I was/am having ankle issues, which are mostly resolved now. I chased/played with a 14.5 month old yesterday, so I did get some movement, even if it wasn't really exercising. I didn't do the Wii Fit because I knew I could do it today since we are shifting our C25K run to tomorrow. We're going out for my friend Emily's birthday party tonight, so by the time the hubs gets off work and we go celebrate, we won't be home in time for us to do what we need to do as far as C25K goes.

My main goal today is to get 10 minutes of yoga, 20-30 minutes of step aerobics, and not to over-eat tonight at Olive Garden. Maybe I need to do what my mom used to do. Ask for a to go box right up front and put half of my food in the box for another meal. Eat only the half that's on my plate and save the other half for tomorrow for lunch! Not only will I be eating 1/2 the calories in one sitting, but I also get to enjoy my meal TWICE! Sounds very win-win to me!

  1. I have friends who have done similar things when eating out. One of them "poisons" half her meal by pouring Sweet & Low over it before she starts eating. The other asks for the to-go box up front before she starts eating AND she gives it to a homeless person or someone begging on a street corner on her way home. That way, she can order something wildly unhealthy and not be tempted to eat the rest of it that night, or to have a wildly unhealthy meal twice. :) Plus, there's that feel-good component. Personally, I'm just getting better at not feeling like I have to eat everything on my plate - I eat however much I want and then bag up the rest...sort of following the intuitive eating model.

  2. Thanks for sharing, Beth! I never really thought of those ideas! I'm not into wasting food, even non-healthy food, so the "poison" method doesn't ring true in my life, but the homeless idea and the whole intuitive eating model sound like great ideas! <3
