Staying Strong On Easter

As everyone already knows, yesterday was Easter! You can read a little bit about my day on my other blog, Angela's Favorite Things. Now, I don't know how it works in anyone else's family, but holidays in my family means LOTS of people, LOTS of talking, and LOTS of food! I knew all of this going into the holiday, so I planned ahead. I got myself mentally prepared to only take a small serving of each thing I wanted, but not overindulge. What good is losing 2.2 lbs the week before if I gain it all back on ONE day? That's too much work to waste on one day of food...no matter how yummy!

Thankfully, I mostly stuck to my guns! I had some homemade mac and cheese, green beans, ham, corn, and baked beans. I passed on the roll, because, quite frankly, I'd rather have mac and cheese! Then...there was a wrench thrown in. My grandma made my FAVORITE dessert EVER!!!!!! Chocolate eclair cake. **SWOON** We don't have it a lot. She used low fat cool whip and pudding. I definitely had a slice. A slice. Not three, two, six, or five. ONE. I do not regret it. :-) I also had a slice of the fabulous low cal, strawberry swirl cheesecake that I made, since it was my first time making it and I needed to taste it to see if it was worth making it again. The general consensus was that it was pretty darn good! I mean, my cousin ate 4 slices of it and there wasn't any left at the end of the day...soooo...I'd say it was a success!

Anyway, I did pretty well yesterday given that it was a holiday and my favorite dessert was there! I felt satisfied, but not stuffed. I didn't feel too guilty about it either. Vance did have to talk me down a little that evening when I was stressing over the amount of calories I ate earlier in the day, but he made a good point. He pointed out that even if it was more than I've been eating the past few weeks, it's still a lot less than I would have eaten last year at this time. Well played, my love. Well played.

I weighed myself this morning, since I always weigh myself on Wii Fit before I work out (otherwise the game will bug me about it.) It said I'd gained 0.9 lbs since Saturday morning. Some of that was definitely the water I had JUST chugged, but overall, I don't feel like that was a defeated moment for me. I know it will balance out this week. Heck, after I finished my 10 minutes of yoga and 30 minutes of free step, I weighed myself again and it was UNDER my weight from Saturday morning. Sweet! I didn't save that weight in the Wii Fit system, of course, but it made me happy!

I hope your Easter was as blessed as mine!
